I was playing around altering the steel rod that holds the pin in place and provides a base for measuring the case length into a bullet comparator which would be more useful then the case length gauge.

Here is the dimensions I was going to alter for using 30 caliber projectiles.

The end result would be used to function kind of like this, what are your thoughts?

Are the dimensions right for the projectile cut of 0.300 and do you see andy pitfalls or other uses I have not?

Can you set a bullet comparator (like the Hornady to measure ogive OAL) on the base and clamp it to the small rail like your would on the arm of a caliper? I dont have one of these RCBS units, but have thought about using it in that capacity with a bullet comparator.
