So I'm a new reloader and have been using Varget for my 308 so far so good. bought some titegroup and loaded 45ACP everything is fine at this point. I decided to drain my Chargemaster of the Titegroup and the powder has had a reaction with the plastic and it's like concrete in some spots and very hard to scrub out. The plastic now has a film on it where the powder sat (2-3 weeks). I called Hodgdon and they said "Yep, that's what happens with glycerin based powders on some plastics (like RCBS chargemaster). The Varget sat in there for months with no problems. I don't know where you can look up all glycerin based powders, I guess you could go through all the MSDS sheets for each powder.

If you use a glycerin powder make sure you drain your powder measure so you don't look like a dumb@ss... Yeah! Like me...

Yes, I guess we didn't copy you on that memo, so sorry!

You really don't want to leave powder in a plastic hopper for more than a day or two, if you can help it.

If you're lucky, it'll just turn the plastic an ugly cigarette stained brown.

Call RCBS up and see if you can't get a new cylindrical hopper sent out to you.
