Rcbs in Hornady press

I have a Hornady iron press and am using rcbs full length sizer dies. The vent hole on the die is buried in the threads of the locking ring which is tightened down against the lock and load collar. I’m getting some dented cases on the shoulder. Thinking they aren’t venting because the hole is covered. Has anyone else seen this before?

More likely excess lube at play here. What kind are you using and how are you applying it?

The ones that were denting I was using unique case lube by Hornady. I tried my can of one shot case lube and haven’t had one dent yet. I’m pretty sure you are right on using too much. I didn’t wipe the case off after I put it on with my fingers. Thanks for the tip.
