2 DAYS LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I sure its not hurting anything. But was wanting to know if anybody has a fix for it. On my 7mm mag die it leaves a small ring around the top of the bullet. Is there a way to make it not do this anymore? Or stop being so anal and just shot them?
Pull the seating spindle out of the die and chuck it in a drill or drill press and polish / modify the contact bearing surface to provide a smoother taper.
The seater plug causes that. It is only contacting the bullet in one spot. I am like you and I do not like it. I have had it happen with Forster dies, and I contacted them. They immediately sent me a new plug for the bullet I was having a problem with(Hornady 75 grain A-Max---22 cal.). I would contact RCBS, I am sure they will take care of it. Tom.
