Gunsmithing RE-inletting a Stock for Different Bottom Metal?

Alright Gents, I apologize now that I'm sure this is dumb question, and as such has been asked and answered multiple times. Unfortunatey the search function on the Forum STILL kicks my ass.
Real simple: Can a McMillan stock with a BDL configuration be re-inletted to accept a DBM setup? I'm almost positive it can, becaust it seems I did that on a previous stock, but before I buy a stock I can't use I need you guys to tell me how dumb I am for asking.
