Recently got a Tac Ops Bag and it has a spot for a cleaning rod. I’ve got Dewey Rods and I’m sure some will laugh but I’m wondering if its ok to store a rod in there long term... any issues with them bending etc?

I carried a cleaning rod in the cleaning rod slot of a drag bag one time. Ever try to unbend a cleaning rod? It's impossible
If you're dead set on carrying your cleaning rod with the drag bag, especially the Dewey, take a piece of rigid PVC that will fit down in the slot to offer it some crush protection. The other option is to use something like the Tipton carbon fiber rods that have much more flexibility and won't get bent out of shape.

I use a chunk of PVC pipe. Never had any problems whatsoever. Simple and cheap solution.
The PVC/PEX sleeve is great advice for use in the bag. You can also double them up for storage/moving. I had some spare PVC and PEX so I used that to make hanging Dewey holders in the garage.
Yeah, I feel a little embarrassed that it's not at least chrome plated. It seems a little bit ghetto.
But, I open and shut my bag quickly at the range and I don't think anyone has seen it yet.......
