Really... how many AR barrel manufacturers are out there?

I have been researching for a 10.5 223 wylde barrel. I have noticed very similar detailed descriptions of how the barrel was manufactured between different Brand names. I think I understand the difference in metals but is their core group of manufacturers, that just place the brand name of a company on their barrels ?

Many AR manufacturers make very little themselves, out of the ones that do even fewer make their own barrels.

For a 10" 223 wylde SBR criterion would be my first pick unless you are looking for a stainless barrel.

Either that or drop the wylde chambering and go with a 5.56 Daniel Defense CHF.

Regardless of the product, most marks on finished goods are not “maker” marks, they are “merchant” marks.

Don't know about barrels but there are six to eight companies making lowers. I'd say they are like primers, new guy starts at one QA level after a while they move up and eventually someone makes match primers. For barrels, its blanks then who profiles and cuts them.
