I have looked on here and couldnt really find what i am looking for but sorry if i missed it and please feel free to point me in the right direction but here we go. What are the benefits of an adjustable gas block? Do the set screws have a problem of coming loose or is this not an issue? And last but not least without opening a can of worms(no popcorn statements please)does an adjustable gas block loose any accuracy compared to a fixed one? Thanks for any comments.

No accuracy loss. It can be useful to tune the gas system to balance the operating pressure. You can up the pressure if the gun gets really dirty.
To keep set screws from coming loose, it is best to have an indent machined into the barrel. That with loctite is going to keep it in place.

1) allow the user to "tune" the gas system for optimum reliability, etc. is the basic reason. Many factory production rifles are over-gassed which creates additional recoil, additional wear/tear on the rifle, and can impact accuracy/reliability/functionality of the rifle. Adjustable gas blocks allow the user to tune the gas system, thus cyclic rate, to a particular ammo (or situation such as suppressed vs. unsuppressed shooting) and optimize the feel/function of the rifle. With a suppressor, an adjustable gas block permits the user to: a) completely shut off the gas system; b) tune the gas system for less gas when shooting suppressed to slow down the action/etc.; and c) to tune the gas system for more gas when shooting unsuppressed/etc.
2) Installation of adjustable gas blocks varies by mfg. Some are set screw models, some are clamp on, etc. Regardless of type...if they are installed properly...they won't come lose.
3) In terms of accuracy...you won't likely experiences any loss whatsoever. Actually, you can improve accuracy of a rifle by tuning the gas system which in turn reduces recoil impulse, improves the ability to keep your sights on target/sight recovery.

As ORD said...being able to "tune" the gas to your load,etc., really makes a AR shoot nice. I have a couple of JP AR-15's with the adjustable gas block.
I have them tuned so they spit the brass out about 3' from the rifle. The recoil impulse is so light and fast that the rifle hardly moves.
Below is some videos of my Beautiful wife Amber shooting the JP...note the recoil (or lack of).
I am a big fan of adjustable gas blocks.

I have a JP on my competition rig and it is nice to be able to tune the system down for felt recoil and until you get one you don't realize how overgased the systems are. I have never had any issues with mine coming lose.

hey all, I think the OP is referring to the set screw that you use to regulate gas flow, not the set screws that you use to secure the gas block to the barrel.

Yes I actually was referring to the gas regulating screw not the screws to hold it to the barrel. But that's my fault I should have been more clear. Sorry for any confusion.

I just picked up Noveske Switch block for shooting with my can. i will let you know how it works should have the parts tonight.

In addition to regulating the gas pressure, acording to John Paul, President of JP Enterprises, you can actually tweak the accuracy of a given load. I haven't tried yet myself, just keep mine set about 1/4 turn past the last lock back setting, as per John Paul's reccomendation. Coupled with the JP recoil eliminator, and impulse is minimized.
