In the initial planning stage right now of a .338 WinMag build. Hunting rifle only with probably a #7 barrel with Fat Bastard Break.

Thinking of Pierce Engineering LA or Stiller Tac300, or does it have to be a Tac338?

Any other ideas? want to spend less than 1K on the receiver.

on the longer Tac338 I guess a custom inlet is required?

thanks.

Re: Receiver choice question?

Surgen RLR , its their cheaper action without the attached rail and recoil lug , a bit cheaper and still top notch quality. Has a 3.630 mag length
you don't need the bigger Tac 338 actiong for the regular 338 winchester as it is actualy shorter than the 300 winchester

same as seen here with the RSR but the RLR is the long action
