I’m not concerned about weight. I would be shooting at no more than 400 yards. I had a BDC scope and just sold it for a variety of reasons, so not looking at a BDC. I would prefer just a hold over reticle.

Me and most of my cousins have Remington mountain rifles. They all wear Leupolds VX3's.... 2 use 4.5-14, one has a 2.5-8, one has an old 1.75-6.....they all work great in the deer woods and our fields. Sometimes I use mine (in 280Rem) as double duty for varmints and I appreciate the 14x.
But I wouldn't want any more than 4x on the bottom end.
And it's nice and lightweight.

Thank you. I was also thinking of the Vortex Diamondback HP “1”. It seems to be a good choice as well.
