I recently graduated the Army Sniper School. I did a year long tour in Afghanistan as a member of a sniper team and now that i have graduated school i am the team leader. i want to continue my education for my own personal benefit and also to train my guys. anybody know of some good books or videos or websites other than this one that provides good insight into not only sniping but also fieldcraft and long range shooting? I have the FM 23-10 and it is just like any other army fm, garbage. Thanks a lot, Boydo

Congratulations and keep up the good work.

Re: Just Graduated US Army Sniper School

PM a Mod or Lowlight, for approval on this BEFORE you do it for the green light from them.

Ask if it is okay to create a separate account for your team to use for the online training, and split the costs among yourselves, or ask if there is a way to share the online training between multiple users. I don't know if it can be done.

My only interest in this is you and your team's educational benefit.

Beat me to it.

Re: Just Graduated US Army Sniper School

Im curious what you two are calling BS on. If your calling BS on what the others are recommending, then make a recomendation of your own. If your calling BS on me, what would you like to know. I graduated USASS class 708-12. Id be more than happy to PM you a copy of my orders, diploma, and ERB if that would make you happy.

Re: Just Graduated US Army Sniper School

lmao.... finally... a FNG that offers creds.... I love it

Honestly Boydo,

short of going to Rifles Only or someplace and taking a class, you've found your best resouce w/ this site, but you need thick skin around here.

Re: Just Graduated US Army Sniper School

thanks force multiplier. i expected a few guys to jump my ass. was ready for it lol. ive been a lerker on this site for a while, but havent subscribed to the online training. is it worth the money? also im confused as to the cost. is it a one time $10 purchase for the classes that are already made, or do i have to spend another 10 when new classes come out

There are a lot of people (mostly the video game crowd) that come on here posing as the real thing so it's the typical knee-jerk reaction to a posts like yours. Offering creds is good enough for me, some others perhaps not. To answer your question, I've done some Q&A with Frank and now that my schedule allows me to, I'll be joining the training forum. It goes through PayPal and is only $10/month so it's a no brainer. It think it costs a little more to see past lessons but not sure about that. You might have to clear it with Frank but you might be able to print out the written lessons and share them with your teammates.

Re: Just Graduated US Army Sniper School

1st a "marksman" know how much "sniper" means. if your a team leader, contact your lesion or an instructor, get the manuals, the books the lessons, find out who wrote them , with your skill set in the continuity you should know some one who knows some one who can put you in front of some one. Talk to them, forums with a broadcast stating something that can be easily know as common knowledge or said as wind with no meaning. talk to lowlight, Im sure you'll have to provide the commons, battalion or squad information but as stated before it im sure you'll get some training here or be directed in a direction that will help you.

2nd don't defend you are who you say you are, witch i offer no doubt, put you head down and 1 foot in front of the other. the long timers know ho people are by their actions not their words.

3rd don't send nothing, Photoshop will kill you some dam modern warfare 3 ninja take you shit pass off as his own.

Individuals play the game, but teams beat the odds. as once said by a friend

nothing intended

Re: Just Graduated US Army Sniper School

Learn how to fly below the radar and collect the info by looking in the right areas. No need to silhouette yourself in your first post.

There was a time that people who graduated from the school house prided themselves on being quite professionals.

Not all achievements and details need to be shared with the masses.

Re: Just Graduated US Army Sniper School

If you don't think some of your instructors and future platoon mates are on this site you are sadly mistaken. Congrats man but seriously posting about it on here?

Re: Just Graduated US Army Sniper School

my original intent was to request good reads or other sites in order to learn more and be able to pass it on to my guys. but unfortunately, it has turned into a pissing match. i didnt realize that stating my recent graduation or past deployments was gonna cause such a stir. i also didnt intend to offer my creds, but i did so in hopes that it would stop the bullshit and encourage guys to offer good info and recommend things. my bad guys

Re: Just Graduated US Army Sniper School

you can edit the title of the thread if you want, or if you don't want to draw any more attention, which you will if this thread becomes yet another pile-on, then ask a mod to pull it and drive on.

stay safe

Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda...

Don't apologize for this. You did good, albeit vocal and out there, but innovation and audacity, is what scared the crap out of the Soviets when we they thought of us.

A NCO gets his guys whatever training he can get them because, in your case as far as your unit's optempo, time is of the utmost essence.

Next time just PM someone. LOL.
