Just curious what people have tried. I've spoken to a couple barrel makers, was wondering if anyone is using more than 1 gain (8.5-7.5) in their barrel. I'm wanting to use it for as much range as possible, if that matters. I was trying to find a video I thought Frank mentioned what he used, but I can't find it. Any suggestions?

Finally found that video, it was an 8.25-7.75 Frank was using, but it was for a .260. I guess it's a similar twist for similar weights. I would be using heavier bullets. He mentioned being able to load a bit faster, just wondering how much.

I am currently having a 6.5 CM with a 8.25-7.5 spun up with the goal of running a broader range of weights. From what I have read, Bartlein recommends a . 75 gain, but I am sure this could vary by caliber.
Thanks for the info. I spoke to them, suggested a 1 gain for 150 gr class bullets (I was asking them specifically for these, they told me the 0.75 for wider range, too.)

Currently we shoot 147 almost exclusively. I spoke with Sierra earlier this year and they still recommended at least 7.5 for their 150s. After talking with Bartlein decided on 8 to 7.
