Just wondering what the general consensus in torque (inch lbs) is for tightening scope ring screws. Rings are TPS and scope is NXS 3.5 - 15. I know some don't even bother but I like for them to be as consistent as possible.

Alloy rings, ~15 in/#

Steel rings ~18-20 in/#

Manufacturers differ, but there are two values depending on material.

I use 18 in/lbs on the ring caps
65 in/lbs on the cross bolts

Same rings and optic...

Badger rings and base...I do the following.

20 for the base to receiver
65 for the rings to base
15 for the rings to scope.
