Rifle Scopes Red dot for AK or scope

My friends dad just bought an AK.223 and want's to mount a red dot or scope, I told him to mount a red dot because its made for combat not sharp shooting, I think he is old and can't see to well.
Either way what do you guy recommend? as far as the red dot it has to be from 1-3 moa.

talked to him tonight he said he wants to spend $200
I don't have the heart to tell him he is not going to get anything of quality unless he wants to spend some money.

Is the mounting set up on the sk the same? Somebody pm me so not to hijack. I would like to have that on my junky old paratrooper sks.

He went with this looks like a wanabe Aimpoint but has a 2MOA dot and seems ok quality. For $150 you get what you pay for

I have the Vortex strike fire on my 10/22 and I like it so far. its no amipoint, but its not bad

think it will hold up to 5.56 and 7.62x39?
Do you like the dot is it really 2 moa or 5?
