Having a Kowa TSN 82-SV I find that I have problems aiming the scope and acquiring my target. I have been playing with mounting a red dot, and so far have used a short piece of Picatinny rail with a 1" riser to the the red dot above the plane of the angled eyepiece. The taper of the scope body makes the red dot appear well high of the center of the scopes view, so have a 20MOA Picatinny rail ordered and a few large screw tightening hose clamps coming tomorrow. I am hoping the 20MOA will make the red dot more closely match the scopes view, and then i can fine adjust it. Right now I just have it loosely attached with a couple of cable ties over my stay on case, I prefer to let the case stay on. I have inserted a piece of 3/8" closed cell foam to tightnen the case forward of the focus knob. Right now with a little shimming, I was using my pocket knife as a shim it seems to be working well. I am hoping with the different Picatinny rail and the hose clamps to tighten it down better that it will all work better. I have followed some posts on birdforum.net and some folks have been playing with making a mount of a plastic material using a 3-D printer , that attaches around the dew shield./sunshade. Some of them look rather nice, but I don't care to invest in a 3-D printer or worry about learning how to program and use it.
