Red Tac 1/2 Pint Rear Bag?

Any opinions on the Red Tac 1/2 pint bag? It seems nice and compact, but maybe too small? I am looking for a good rear bag and I don't want to have to go through a lot of trial and error on finding the right one. Thanks.

Re: Red Tac 1/2 Pint Rear Bag?

I've got Stu's lightweight version's of the regular rear bag and half pint too and they're both awesome as all Redtac gear is. I've also got the TAB Gear and 8541 tactical bags too and they also nice, but they are solutions to different problems. If you got a TAB and Redtac regular, you'd probably have 95% of what you'd ever need.

Re: Red Tac 1/2 Pint Rear Bag?

1/2 pint is my favorite size. Granted most of the time I'm shooting into a mountain, so I'm level to uphill. I have a large bag from 3gungear for the downhill shots in the ruck.

USNG-the full size can copmress down quite a bit if you run it on its side. And the LW has a lighter fill, not less I believe.

Here's a pic of the tactical pillows (on the bottom) in comparison to the regular bean bag. The pillows are good to use on those tough obstacles. We got'em in but I've been slackin on getting them up on our site...

Re: Red Tac 1/2 Pint Rear Bag?

1/2 Pint is also my favorite for a rear bag. I believe it offers the two best height options. As others have said RedTac makes great stuff and if you contact Stu he is more than willing to work with you to solve any problem and is a pleasure to deal with. I like the 1/2 Pint so much I asked Stu to make me a custom one that included a Push Button QD Swivel so I could keep it attached to my stick for run and gun yet allow me to quickly slide between the two heights. When I don't want to use it I simply remove it and change to a different bag. I must say that this is working out very well and serving the intended need. I will have a few more made.

Crossgun-
That swivel is great! I may have to do that on my next bag. I usually pull my KMW cheekpiece out and run the front post through the para loop. Keeps the bag right where I like it and I can run it vertical or horizontal, in the A5 notch for more elevation or behind it for less.
I'm gonna be getting a ultralight 1/2pt next and I think I'll be sending him a swivel.......
