I was sizing my .223 brass the other day and about round #600, the decap pin broke in my Redding full length sizing die. Natually, I did not have a spare pin. No one around me carries the Redding OEM parts , and Redding is on vacation this week(Deer season).
I found a LGS that had some RCBS pins and thought I could make them work. I had to press fit the RCBS pin into the collect and screw down the retaining cap.
It is substantially thicker and I think it might work better. I ordered a good supply of the Redding pins, but as a back up, I think the RCBS will do in a pinch.
Just in case anyone happens to be in the same situation.....I wanted to pass this along.
