I just finished neck expanding some 22-250 cases to a .243 neck. I used a Sinclair expander and lubed the necks with Imperial. I lost no cases to the "donut shoulder monster" and it was clean and nearly effortless. I had read on Accurate Shooter some guy going to great lengths to do this operation with a .308 die and a modified shellholder.
In contrast, last night I used Imperial case lube inside the necks and there was considerably more effort required to neck the cases, infinitely more mess and I crushed one case and had a donut on another.
