I posted this in the Equipment forum but it was suggested It would get better views here so here it goes.

I am debating on what dies to buy for my F/TR 308 project. Are there any specific advantage of the Whidden bushing FL and seater dies over the Redding Type S FL and Competition seater? Or would I be better off going with a custom FL die from Neil Jones and his Seating die?

Thanks

Not sure about Neil Jones, but I use a Redding Type S FL bushing neck, and a Forster Ultra Micrometer seater. I don't shoot F/TR, but I know several guys that do, and use this same die setup.

I only have one set of Widden Dies, with his micro seating die, these are as good a die as I've ever used. I usually run Redding, they too are great dies, however; after reading a write up over on the Accurateshooter.com, I gave Widden a shot, glad I did. Very nice people to deal with btw.

Let me throw out the Forster name. Same EXACT quality as the Redding at about half the cost. If I'm correct, and I may not be, Redding used Forster's micrometer seating die design after the patent ran out or something along that line. Of course that may be internet rumor too....
