The Boston Tea Party was peaceful. The insurgents dressed as indians, with no masks... but the costumes were significant because they showed the patriots identified as Americans, not British.

The tea chests were removed, opened (with hatchets) and tossed. Value 1.7 million in today's dollars... with NO damage to ships, crews or personal property. The story indicates that a single lock, owned by a ships' Captain that was destroyed, was replaced the next day.

The Patriots swept the decks of the ships as they left. One 'Patriot' tried to steal a quantity of tea. It was removed from him and the others sanctioned him. All efforts were made to ensure that the East India Company's tea was destroyed before it could be taxed, but the ships, crews and assets of the 'innocents' was protected.

So for this whack-job 'Toby' wannabe to compare rioting and burning of property and shooting police officers to be akin to the Boston Tea Party is a perversion of history.

I am all for the idea of protesting regal over-reach. In many ways.

But the utterly morally- and historically-bankrupt ideas being spewed by this leftist retard barely merit the time I took to type this.

These Antifa types have no clue what they are saying or calling for. But it's not good. They are trying to justify complete lawlessness by saying that this is what the Sons of Liberty did c. 1775. To a degree, the SoL were flaunting the law against a corrupt monarchy. And today we can interpret their actions as something that may be questionable against authority.

But there are political and democratic options that can occur in our Republic to seek redress against real or perceived issues. And creating riots and violence.... don't fit in that framework.

I will fully admit that for at least three generations, Southern Democrats and Klukker types did horrible, nasty and Un-Constitutional (post-Lincoln) things against minorities. And that, really, there should not have EVER needed to be such segregations, but that the Southerners could not give up their property in the Constitutional Convention and the during the establishment of the Bill of Rights.

As a result, we got a situation which Jefferson characterized as "We have a wolf by the ears... we don't like it, but we don't dare let it go."

What remains retarded is that people like this blame Republicans for their situation, when the reality is that it's Democrats back into the 1700's who started by protecting their property.... then converted their property into dependants through welfare and New Deal and Great Society politics... while never, ever, recognizing that ALL people can be successful, relevant, equal, American.... choose your adjective. Republicans STARTED as a party for emancipation and for bootstrap equlity.

Who cares what color you are or what gong you bang on Sundays or what/who/what gender you identify as. If you love The Constitution.... then you are an American.
