how close is this scope to the one used on the M40's, and how much do you think its worth? Forgive the pics, I took them with my iphone because digital camera is smoked. Greatly appreciate any feedback you guys can give me.

Re: Redfield 3x-9x question

The knobs dont look like the ones on teh M40. The M40's were greenish color as well. Is it round on both ends, just one end, or oval on both ends?

Since it is an accurange I would guess tht it is "worth" $200-$400. I would use it on my M40 project because the redfield that I have is widefield on both ends and does not ahve the accurange system.

Good lookin scope. Are you looking to sell it?

Re: Redfield 3x-9x question

Thats an accutrac made by redfield, 3x9 or various other magnifications, with the accurange reticle, you can use different cams for different bullet weights with this scope. Unfortunately it is not a good representation of the scopes used on the M40, theres a wealth of info on the correct accurange scopes used on the M40, the M40 used a anodized green accurange 3x9 marked with 1 inch tube, scope had round objective and eye piece, also used was a 2nd generation accurange in 3x9 with a satin anodized finish. If you are going for looks only, there are usually several gloss gen 1 scopes without accurange for sale on gunbroker or auction arms
