Is it possible to take one of the vintage Redfield 3x9 scopes with the accu-range and accu-trak features, and replace the accu-track part with a standard version top end, while retaining the accu-range feature for using it on an M40 clone? The external parts look like they might swap, but I am not sure how the internals of these scopes are made and if they interchange.

Re: Redfield 3x9 accu-trak removal question

I have one even more confusing. I have a Redfield 4 x12x44 mm
gloss black 1 inch tube, I am told it is the "Tombstone"
rangefinder, with the 2 strada wires at the top of the immage, which is 18 inches at any distance. Chin to beltbuckel, and when it fits in, as you zoom in... read the distance on the tombstone. Know the hold-over for that distance, and put the crosshairs on it.. squeeze off a round ,that = DEAD !
What is this old Redfield worth ? It has scratches on it, but has been restored by Redfield repair depo in Tulsa Ok. Has 1 year warantee with it.

Re: Redfield 3x9 accu-trak removal question

I did, and wound up just buying a Redfield 3x-9x 1' tube marked accurange scope from them instead that they had already redone in green. Sometimes, it's just easier to buy one ready to go than to keep monkeying around... (And yes, you can remind me I said that as I keep getting deeper and deeper into this project
