Just started annealing i never done it and passed up this step til here recent. I started hold case twisting it back and forth and torch in other hand i had lights off when case neck started a red glow i stopped. This method pointless? I did see better sd on brass

Was it a red glow in light or in glow in the dark? My personally opinion is the case is a little over annealed if it’s glowing under a work light.

Either way it’s probably not pointless. Annealed is better than not annealed. I saw a guy put his brass in a socket on a drill driver and spin the case while butane torching it. If it works, it works.

Pretty much same setup. The room was dark no lights on.

I agree. The brass should just start to show a dark orange glow when it's done.
