Looking to put a suppressor on my PRS match gun. The experience I have with suppressors is that they don't reduce recoil, they just make it longer. Is this a function of common design? If so, does a shorter suppressor reduce it? Do certain types of suppressors work better with a brake mount setup (i.e. TBAC 5")?

They do lessen recoil, and yes, they do extend it. That’s what the can does, it takes that explosive air in the bore and gives it a chamber to lessen its pressure in before its released to the world to hear. I would assume that yes, it is a combination of both the size and design. The longer the can, the bigger the can more, the better design of the can will all better slow that blast down and in that extend the pulse of the recoil while also lessening it.

Leviathan cans have a much different feeling impulse that is more brake like. I was able to try their different offerings and I haven't used anything that has a similar impulse.
