Gunsmithing reducing headspace on a CZ 455

my 455 appears to have a headspace of 0.053" . i assume the correct way to fix this is to remove 0.01" from the front of the action so that the barrels seat a bit deeper (reducing the headspace) ?

I would not remove material from front of my Action face . Unless I was taking a little off for truing the face of the factory Action . ' If ' you truing up the Action face, then it will change your ' Rim ' headspace for tighter .
Rimefire, Changing Headspace normally done with + or - of barrel Shoulder and Shank face .

Barrel headspace for Rimfire is set on accepting Rim thickness .
( I always Thought ? ) . factory .22 rifles were set a little loose to accept the large ' variance of Rim Thickness ' of all the .22 ammo being produced out there you may shove in the chamber and shoot ?

Preface this with I'm not incredibly familiar with rimfires, much less your specific action....

BUUUT, it seems better in the long run (and probably in terms of lathe setup) to remove material from the barrel shoulder than the action face.
