As many of you know both my brothers are currently fighting cancer. Terry, my older brother, is fighting lung cancer and Mike, my younger brother is fighting brain cancer. I hit 6 years in February of being Kidney cancer free.

Terry's last scans were looking promising and we are hoping that the 6 to 9 months he was given 3 months ago will be a fading memory and he'll have a long life in front of him.

Mike has had two tumors removed but the remaining tumors are inoperable. We have been asked to start looking into clinic trials. Most of these my family can't afford, actually only the truely wealthy can afford them. We are holding on to hope and faith.

Next weekend I will be traveling to the Ashland Oregon to do the Relay for Life with my brother Mike and my parents. If you care to make a donation, it would be very much appreciated by all. Here is a link to the relay for life website. http://main.acsevents.org/goto/susanjleigh

Thanks again for all of your prayers and support,

Susan

Check www.clinicaltrials.gov. You do not need to be rich to afford clinical trials, the benefit is the costs are typically covered for participating by the sponsor of the trial.

I work in oncology. If you need any help send me a PM.

Re: Relay for Life - Its a family affair

There are days I wonder how much a family can bear. I spoke with my parents today. Terry continues to do well which is a blessing. He is on chemo once a week indefinately. John's mom has been diagnosed with Non-hodgkins lymphoma (I'm sure I butchered the spelling on that ). Then tonight my son will tell the rest of the family that he is being deployed again.

On the bright side of things, John and I are getting married in a couple of months and I have 4 healthy beautiful grandbabies that can bring a smile to my face on any day.
