Reloading .338 Lapua on a Dillon

Re: Reloading .338 Lapua on a Dillon

Call Dillon support and see.

I shoot .338LM and I checked on this about a year ago, for the 650. I was told the 650 was not able to handle the 338L cases but the 550 was. I borrowed an ol' rock chucker and it's doing fine instead. Things may have changed so check with them and see.

I've loaded about 1000 rounds on my 550b.

Dillon doesn't offer a 650 conversion kit for the 338LM.

I obviously use the 550b more like a single stage press, when loading precision rifle rounds, than a full blown progressive.

I use a ChargeMaster 1500 for charging cases, although I do own the 'magnum powder bar' for the Dillon powder measures.

The Dillion powder measure is useless for precision loads. I also use the 1500 for powder drops and use the dillion like a non progresssive press.
