I am just learning to reload .223, and I have a prob dumb question. the factory length of the case is 1.760 inches, but the trim to length is 1.75", my once fired winchester brass is 1.762, do I need to buy a trimmer or as I still good to go on this? thank you in advance Jeff

Re: reloading newby question

I'm assuming that you have not sized it yet? I will grow a bit during thee sizing process.

But even if over SAMMI length afterwards, IF it still chambers and extract easily, then you can use it.

I can do this for one of my rifles, but the other has a shorter throat, or something, so does not work for that one, as must be book length or less.

Wilson Sinclair case trimmer has worked well for me... Nice bit of kit and priced well. I also have the base for it. I give it two thumbs up. If your only trimmer a couple hundred cases a month this will more than do the job.

This trimmer also trims the necks to a very smooth, flush surface... no crappy bite marks or rough edges.

You WILL need a trimmer at some point if you continue with this hobby... trust me
