RELOADING Supplies RECOMMENDATIONS

Hello all,

Midway USA is running a no hazmat charge on reloading supplies so I'm going to put an order together, being new to this can you guys reccomend powders, primers you have had good results with?

I'm going to be reloading for:

300 WIN MAG
6.5 CREED
.308
.223

I know H1000 and Retumbo are the go to but the availability is slim to none on those, so any other one you can recommend?

Primers{ CCI Br2s may be a good fit for your 300 win mag (I use these in my 7mm RM). I use Winchester large rifle in my .308 and Winchester small rifle primers in my .223

Power: I use varget in my .308 and H335 in my .223

 

[Steel head]

H4350 for Creed of course.
I really like 8208XBR for serious and W748 for fun in 223 and those two powders work in 308 as well.

308 Varget Fed 210m or CCI BR2
.223 Varget or IMR 3031 CCI 41

Not sure on the specifics for other powders etc but Brunos has a sale right now on powder and its the same price hazmat and shipping included as midways no hazmat "sale"

And powder valley beats both of those by 20 bucks on (2) 8lbers of varget to your door with no "sale".


Suffice it to say, shop around. Midway is rarely the most affordable option.

Thanks for the reply guys, I ended up ordering off powder valley as the prices were much better and they had H1000 in stock.

Ditto what Spife said regarding powder recommendations. But I would add 1 comment, I get lower SD numbers with Federal primers.

Ditto these powder choices. Would also add RL23 as an option for the 300.

Powder Valley generally beats most online stores.
