I am fighting trying to load 155 AMAX into 1x TAP nickel cases. They are shaving the hell out if the bullet even if I chamfer the cases heavily. I was just about to start messing with settings on the dies, and I decided why not try one of the never fired Winchester cases I have been prepping to get ready to load. Seated a bullet in a case that hasn't had anything done other than neck sizing and primer pocket reaming. Not one scratch on the bullet. I figured I could get some use out of the nickel cases since they shot well from the factory, but now I have 50 primed and clean TAP cases that suck to look at. I have shot the shaved rounds and I got some decent accuracy. The look of the shaved bullets just doesn't instill confidence though. Probably going to have to buy more Winchester brass before the prices shoot up in May. Is there any way to salvage this nickel brass without making sloppy looking ammo?
