Greetings,
I'm quite new to reloading, so forgive me if I'm way off-base here.
I'm looking for a cheap bullet to reload for low-recoil trigger time and possible medium range groundhog/crow killing.
Stumbled across these m160 108.5 grain pulled frangible bullets online for about $6/100 and was wondering if any of you have reloaded them.
1.) What is a reasonable accuracy expectation?
1.b) Would I gain anything by weight sorting?
2.) How fast can they be pushed without breaking up in flight?
2.a) Would I be better off just keeping them sub-sonic since they probably can't be pushed very fast anyway?
2.b) What are your thoughts on using a sub-sonic frangible of this weight as a varmint killer?
2.c) Am I incorrect in assuming they are susceptible to breaking up if pushed too fast? Can I push them to normal 110g speeds?
3.) What loads have you had the best success with?
3.a) I'm leaning towards using a pistol powder like Unique (Since I need some for the .357/38 anyway...) and starting around 8g if I decide to go the sub-sonic route.
Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated!
