Rem 700 223 with AICS?

Can anyone pls confirm if you can now purchase an AICS for the Remington 700 in 223. I've been looking around and see there are mags for it but what exactly would I be looking at here?
Can I purchase a 700 SPS Tactical and the AICS for 223 and good to go? Do I need to buy the AICS and then purchase the 223 mag as extra? Will this even fit? Is there any work required beside what would normally be required to place a 308 in the AICS?

I was of the understanding that the AICS was only for the 308.

I admit I havn't been keeping up on the whole AICS thing so perhaps things have changed?

As far as I know the AICS for the .308 (short action AICS) will fit a .223 rem 700 however it comes with 1 5 round .308 mag. You need to purchase the .223 mags seperately. Selling that .308 mag here on the forum would be cake.

Thanks, so I just buy the AICS which only comes with the 308 mag and then buy the 223 magazine at the same time?
There is no extra fitting or fooling required for the 223?

You might talk to the dealer and he will throw in a 223 mag. The 223 mags are cheaper than the 308 so you might get two and pay the difference.
No extra fitting or fooling!! Just plug in and play!!!

Thanks guys. I had looked at the AICS awhile ago but somewhat gave up on it because it was not available for the 223 at that time.

This is certainly good news and I guess I have a new purchase coming up!

I've been looking at the Viper PST and perhaps this would go nicely together.

Great setup! I am running my PSS in 223 in an AICS and love it, excellent trainer.
