i've done some looking using the search

making an order from PTG, they offer the nesika and lawton bolt shrouds. i've gathered that the shrouds have no effect on locktime, and is more or less a beauty type of thing or trying to reduce the overall weight of the rifles, no special fitting required.

True or False?

if upgrading the spring and pin later, does the style or size (lawton oversized) of the shroud matter?

If its a true Nesika style shroud thats enclosed it will require a new cocking piece, striker, and spring.

All Nesika actions are setup as "cock on open only". Meaning when you lift the bolt out of battery the fire control is reset 100%. It's not like a Remmy/Winny where you gain additional spring compression when rotating back into battery.

The goal being butter smooth bolt manipulation and less disturbance of the gun when running in bags/rests. (Nesika began life as a BR piece)

Good luck,

C.

^ thanks i seen your previous posts on similiar topics with springs and pins. some good info i'll reference later

i don't know if it's a true nesika, it's the PTG version, perhaps it just has the "look" but not the function needing the extra stuff.

eventually will replace the firing pin, spring and all that stuff after a little more research on locktimes and if i want to tinker with it, but ordering the stealth BM today, trying to see if i could "work" shipping costs by including the shroud vs. the other bolt enhancements.

Its just a Remington with the Nesika look and takes Remington or PTG firing pin and cocking peice . A lot of folks seem to like the look.
