Need advice on the style of action wrench for 700 bodies. Most of mine have a picatinny rail attached. I'd like a wrench that would not require the removal of the rail nor mar the outside finish. Do the internal lug styles work well or am I risking lug damage.

The one that applies the force on the lugs is fine for rifles that have been rebarreled. For a factory installed barrel remover, I highly suggest a wrap around action wrench. Removing a rail is really no big deal. The option if you must leave the rail installed would be a custom wrap around wrench with a relief cut for the rail.
