Sought help on along range AR that is about complete (waiting on the barrel), but have been eyeing a 700 for a while.

Always wanted in .308, but I am not sure there is really a need for me to have it in .308. I dont deer hunt. My range is >800yds.

Thoughts?

We have a 550 yard range and I shoot a 308. Other guys there have 22-250s and while they shoot real good, wind affects the bullets allot more than my 308. I have Remington 700 with a 22 inch 1:10 twist.

You really need a .308. See my ad

Get a 700 in 308. They are a lot of fun to shoot, good to over a 1000yds, and if you don't like it, they tend to resale fairly well.

i know ill like the 308, just more of a need for what im doing.

Re: Rem 700 in .223 v .308

Standard is the .308 (I have a few), but I made sure I had a bolt .223 just because it is so nice to shoot for long times. Twist is a major factor with the .223 so if you can get the faster twist you will be much happier.

>800 yards kinda demands a .308 in my book.

The Rem 700PSS is simply an awesome gun. You will not regret getting it.

But don't over look a .308 AR. My DPMS is capable of 0.50 MOA.
