I recently bought a Remington 700 SPS Varmint. I haven't started working up a load yet but thats right around the corner. I checked the OAL of some factory rounds that i'm using to get the brass (Winchester) and its 2.700. When I read about other peoples loads the OAL is usually never below 2.8xx with some loads i've seen over 2.900.
Does anyone know the max length that rounds can be and still fit in the Rem. 700 internal magazine? That's where I want to start with the OAL on my load and see how accurate I can get before I start thinking about a single fire load. I'm optimistic because even with the cheap factory loads at 2.700, the rifle shoots real nice.
