rem 700 pss or sps tac and varmint stock?

will the stock barreled action of the rem 700 sps tac OR REM 700 PSS fit in a stock for a varmint barrel contour inlet stock. more the pss if there is a difference between rifles?

Yes, they will fit. The PSS, LTR, SPS, 5R all have the same external "Remington Varmint" profile. The barrel lengths may differ, but the barrel profile is the same.

It is my understanding that the 5R profile is different, from the others:

Remington #3 varmint contour (PSS, LTR, SPS, XCR) is .850" @ muzzle.

Remington 5R contour is .980" @ muzzle.

My 5R was beefer than my LTR. I don't have the 5R anymore, but that's what my notes show.

Perhaps because of the 24" vs 26" barrel?
