Is the barrell and action the same on the two guns or are they diffrent? The reason I'm asking is I'm going to stick it in a AICS stock anyway. If they are the same I would just get the SPS and not worry about trying to get rid of a stock I don't need. Thanks in advance.

Apparently Remington may not be parkerizing...

From the LE website...

The standard Model 700P features an H-S Precision® composite stock reinforced with Du Pont Kevlar and fiberglass. They'll stay dimensionally stable in any weather and under the worst tactical situations. The stock is laid up around an aircraft-grade aluminum bedding block that runs up the entire length of the receiver. It has a textured, black, non-reflective finish and comes with sling swivel studs."

Mine was parkerized ...YMMV

Asking about the difference between SPS & PSS is something I hear quite freaquently, as far as the barreled actions go, is the PSS better?

I have been told that the PSS Actions & Barrels are hand selected any truth to this?

Its all over but the wait. I ordered a PSS today but before I ordered it I called Remington and they told me the barreled action were tech. the same except the PSS was parkerized and that they were hand selected.

See, this is what I don't understand, "hand selected" for what purpose and what standard??
