I have an older Remington 700 VS in 22-250 from approx. 1993-1994. Does anyone know what the twist rate is on this barrel? According to Remingtons website they produce 22-250's with 14" twist rate but I'm not sure if it was the same back in 93-94. Does anyone know? Thanks.

yea unfortunately 1-14 twist is the standar factory twist for a 22-250

Anyone know what's the heaviest bullet this 14" twist rate will stabilize? Will is handle the 77gr. SMK bullets?

77 grain Matchkings and going to be way too long to stabilize in a 1 in 14", need 1 in 7", maybe 1 in 8". The heaviest my .22-250 will handle is the 63 grain Sierra soft points which are kind of blunt for the weight. It will not stabilize the 60 gr vmaxes. My rifle prefers the 50-52 grain bullets so that's what I stick with. 52 grain amaxs are it's absolute favorite.
