Gunsmithing Rem Barrel. Sendero 7mmRUM Can it be cut to 7SAUM

I have a Remington factory 26" sendero barrel chambered in 7mm RUM SF. Great barrel but the threading is all rough and woren is the only way I can explain it. Barrel shot great when the gun was together, but I am using the action for another build.. Can that barrel be re-chambered and re-threaded safely to another 7mm say SAUM or maybe WSSM ?????

I don't believe there is enough material left to cut off the tenon and rethread on a sendero profile barrel.

I doubt it, unless you cut the shoulder and tennon off and fitted it with a barrel nut like a Savage.

I believe you can get a Remington barrel nut from Shilen, Pac Nor, and Bergara.

Thanks guys.. My buddy and I had figured pretty much that was what the out come. Great barrel but not sure what happened to the threads. Would most likely be OK to remount but it does worry me..
