Greetings,

I've been doing some cerakoting lately and I have the tool for compressing the bolt to expose the firing pin cross pin but I always struggle to drive the cross pin out with a punch. It always seems tighter than hell and sometimes they don't want to move at all.

Does anyone know of a tool that aids in the removal and installation of the cross pin?

Whatever tool you use, clamp it in a vice with the extended firing pin over the far half of the vise. Put a piece of steel the right thickness (find the steel first and clamp it at the right height) under the cocking piece, across the vise jaws, and just above the cross pin so that the cocking piece rests firmly on the steel. Use a good punch and a firm hammer. It will come out.

Protip: Remingtons are not always drilled in the middle so mark the orientation and it will go back together easier.
