Remage barrel, bedding, and more questions

I am interested in possibly doing a remage barrel conversion on my rem 700. What are the down sides? Total cost to do it? Am I better off just buying a cheap savage 10 or 110 and modding it?

I have a stock thats been bedded with devcon, how hard is it to barrel swap and rebed? How many times can a stock be bedded? Thanks
