Great to see.

The Battlefield Monuments Commission, which handles a lot of this important work around the world, is one of the pieces of the USG that really justifies its budget and does amazing stuff.

For some of the back story on why we take so much care with our war dead, take a look at the PBS American Experience documentary "Death in the Civil War." I posted a link in SH movie theater. Amazing story about how the evolution of our national battlefield monuments and treatment of war dead due to the Civil War.

Fantastic story! Thanks for posting, Culpepper!

Cheers,

Sirhr
