The pictures are amazing, its just so damn sad seeing what it was and knowing what it is like now. everything's in ruins and the culture took such a huge leap backward. But theres one thing that remained the same- the look in the eyes of the little kids. That, and the terrible dude hairdos.

I honestly can't even picture anywhere being like it was in those pictures. Nothing even resembles anything remotely close to that now. Pretty incredible to see that. What a complete 180* turn into hell...

only the Salang Tunnel resembles anything in those photos, and that's just because it's too damn important to both sides for them to do anything that would endanger it.

that said, they definitely haven't done any updating to it in a LONG time. probably ever, TBH.
