Remingon 700 ?

Got a guy locally selling a Remington heavy barrel .308 for 450.00, so my question 2 parts one good deal? And two he states it's 24" heavy barrel in after market Boyds stock asked if it was vls he stated no it's a bdl I was just wondering what model it might be? Thanks for the help

Is it blued with a jeweled bolt?

Either way 450 is a good deal.Shit, an action will cost around 400...

If it is a gloss blue with high polish jeweled bolt then it is a Varmint Special(older wood stocked) barreled action which were discontinued in '94ish I beleive. If a matte blue with a jeweled bolt but not high polish than it would be an early VS(Varmint Synthetic barreled action, if no jeweling and not polished it is more than likely an early parked 700P barreled action
