Gunsmithing Remington .223 FTE

My Remington .223 I built for my son is currently having problems extracting. I’ve replaced the original extractor and it’s still continuing to be troublesome.

Now here’s the interesting part. It only does this with Lapua brass. Winchester, Remington, and lake city extract flawlessly.

I’ve considered sending the bolt off to Area 419 for the mini m16 extractor. Before I spend the $ on the upgrade I’m more or less curious if my Lapua brass is out of spec?

Suggestions?

I only use Lapua brass and I had the same problem. I sent my bolt to Area419 and Jon did an awesome job. No issues with feeding or extraction.

Area 419 does not do the mini m16 extractor for the .223.

Any suggestions?

Why don't you just use Lake City brass?
