Does anyone know where I can get spare mags for the Remington 700P 338LM?? I have emailed Accurate mags, looked all over Remingtons site, and have tried PM'ing the guy on here who works for Accurate mag but his inbox is full and he was just on here 7/6/10.

Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Remington 338LM mags?

I believe you'll have to contact Remington or go through a Remington dealer. Accurate Mags is producing the current mags for the MLR, but due to an agreement with Remington, Accurate Mags can't sell that particular mag to customers. The MLR mag is a proprietary mag made to Remingtons specifications. A large gun shop near me had an MLR in stock as of last week, and the clerk told me that they've ordered some of these mags through Remington at a cost of around $125.00.

HOLY $H!T...was that the dealer cost they gave you or the expected price they were going to offer them to customers? Because you know if they had to pay $125 as a dealer, they won't sell them cheaper than $150/mag!!!

If mags are really going to run that much from Remington, I think that some aftermarket bottom metal that will allow you to run mags that cost 1/2 the price of the Remington factory mags will definitely be in order!!

Re: Remington 338LM mags?

That was just the cost the clerk quoted off the top of his head. He said they had ordered some for a customer. The shop is a Remington dealer. The actual cost might be a little different. I bought one of the original MLR's that came with the HS Precision bottom metal. I put the barreled action into an AICS and never purchased a second mag. After 5 shots, that varmint weight barrel is so hot that it's starting to throw off some serious mirage.

Re: Remington 338LM mags?

The only problem with AICS mags is the 3.64" internal length. CIP length ammo won't fit in them. I believe the Accurate brand mags made for the current MLR will accept CIP length ammo.

Re: Remington 338LM mags?

The Remington mag has an internal length of 3.70 " and will allow the use of CIP length ammo or proper seating of 300 grain bullets if handloading.
