I was looking at one of these at my local gun shop ($2,460) and it was a very nice rifle.

The stock was a BCS 1000 (was a black type color), 20" bbl, 40-X action (stamped on action), muzzle brake-threaded for suppresor (i think it was a Surefire MB762) also had a very clean/crisp trigger with IBA 20MOA rail. Also came with hard and soft case with test target and Dewey cleaning rod.

I could not find any specs on this rifle such as the twist rate (1-10 I hope) we looked thru all the paper work at the gun store and even tried to call Remington but they were closed.

I googled the hell out of it and all I could find was Remington Custom Shop (were this rifle came from) but all it talked about was the IBA XM3 Rifle. Is this the new Version of the XM3 ?

Can anyone give me the full (actual) specs on this rifle? Whats the Twist??? Is it Bedded at all??
Any info would help. Thanks.
Anyone have one of these?

Re: Remington 40-X TDR Tactical Rifle. Specs??

I like the overall package and have handled a couple but the price is way out of line on them (typical CS). If you really want one shop around and they can be found quite a bit cheaper. There's different color combo's for them also.

The ones I saw came out under the Bushmaster Custom Shop branding but it's still all Remington. They have different serial number series to set them apart from the regular Remington Custom Shops rifles too. The Bushmaster ones may have different serial numbers too, can't remember it's been a few years. At one point there were quite a few on Gunbroker and GunsAmerica but they have seemed to dried up a bit.

Barrel should be 20" oal, 1-12" twist barrel from the custom shop (prob usual button rifled), not regular production hammer forged.

The action is also usual spec 40X repeater and is also clip-slotted.

Hope this helps.

Re: Remington 40-X TDR Tactical Rifle. Specs??

The rifle is made by Iron Brigade Armory for Remington and is labeled "Custom Shop." They take the Bell and Carlson stock and modify the bedding block by cutting it into a V-Block and then it is bedded with Devcon Titanium. It uses a Hart Barrel (1in10 twist) that is a 20" PSS contour with a Surefire Brake/ Adaptor . The rifle also uses a IBA Steel Trigger Guard, IBA Recoil Lug, and IBA Picatinny Rail. Trigger is set at 3.75 pounds and the Remington receiver is trued and the lugs lapped. They were also made for the Bushmaster Custom Shop and Iron Brigade sold them as the IBA Advanced Tactical Rifle, one of which I held the other day at there shop.
