Will a Remington 700 Take-off barrel fit on a Remington Model 7 action?
I have 2 Model 7's and a 700 take off barrel. I'd like to put the 700 barrel on one of them. The current barrel is very light in profile and groups open up fast. The 700 barrel I have is a sporter weight and about 22" long. I plan in having it shortened to 18-20" if it will fit so I can still keep the weight down some. I have the recoil lug that came with the 700 barrel also.
I will have a smith do the work and ensure the headspace is correct, I just want to make sure I have all the parts first.
