Gents,

I am planning to build a rifle using a blueprinted Remington 700 short action and a Cadex chassis. I am trying to mimic the M40a6 look but am having a hard time deciding on a barrel contour. I am on edge between a Remington sendero, M24, and heavy palma contour. What are the differences between them and what would you recommend. If you got PICS, that’ll help.

It’s gonna be 20” and I won’t be toting this around in the field, mainly a tripod gun.

Have you considered using a Schneider M40A6 barrel?

Another close contour would be the M24 contour. I think a remington sendero would be a good bit thinner, and a different taper profile than the above mentioned contours.

Recommend going to Schneider website and looking at the contour charts.

ETA: I am a big fan of the M24 contour, which is offered by many manufacturers. I use it for hunting and match rifles.
